Introduction

B Corp, for companies that choose to lead

B Corp is, above all, a positive instrument. It helps companies look ahead and take responsibility, rather than merely responding to obligations. That perspective closely aligns with the vision of The Overview Effect: working with ambitious companies that want to take responsibility for their impact on people, planet, and society, and demonstrate that this is possible within a commercial context.

“B Corp fits organisations that are intrinsically motivated to do better. Not because regulation requires it, but because they believe it is the right direction,” says Nick de Ruiter. “With B Boosters, we add deep B Corp expertise to our ecosystem, enabling us to support these companies even more effectively.”

B-Boosters within The Overview Effect’s venture strategy

The acquisition fits within The Overview Effect’s broader venture strategy. Rather than operating as a single, broad consultancy, the firm is building an ecosystem of clearly defined propositions, each with its own focus and entrepreneurial leadership.

Previously, The Overview Effect launched Data For Better, powered by The Overview Effect, focused on ESG data, internal control, and assurance-related challenges. With B Boosters, powered by The Overview Effect, the next step is now being taken: a specialised label with a clear focus on B Corp certification and impact-driven business practices.

“With our ventures, we bring specialised propositions to the market as standalone offerings,” says Nick de Ruiter of The Overview Effect. “This allows us to offer clients a broader range of deep expertise, all powered by The Overview Effect. Behind the scenes, we operate as one team. At the front end, ventures remain independent businesses, led by people who are (partly) co-owners. This structure allows entrepreneurship within our organisation to fully flourish.”

Continuity and depth

B-Boosters originated from the B Corp journey of BOSKA, the family-owned company behind, among other products, the well-known cheese slicers. Founder Martijn Bos used B Corp as a tool to sharpen BOSKA’s purpose, strategy, and governance. Growing interest from fellow entrepreneurs led to the founding of B-Boosters in 2023, together with Danique van Straaten and Joris van Zoelen (Synergie).

B-Boosters will continue operating under its own name and retain its substantive focus. For clients, the acquisition means both continuity and depth: access to a broader team of senior consultants with many years of experience in ESG strategy development, sustainability reporting, (interim) sustainability management, and themes such as climate and circularity.

Founder Martijn Bos remains involved with B-Boosters and will actively leverage his network. B-Boosters, powered by The Overview Effect, will move forward under the leadership of Thom van Amersfoort, who is responsible within the ecosystem for the further development of the B Corp proposition.

“For our customers, we were looking for a way to allow B-Boosters to grow within a broader ESG context, without losing its character and focus. In The Overview Effect, we found an ecosystem that aligns with how we view entrepreneurship, sustainability, and impact,” says Martijn Bos.

The existing B-Boosters team will join The Overview Effect and continue working from the same substantive focus. This ensures that the expertise built up over the years is retained, while clients gain access to a wider range of ESG expertise within the ecosystem.

Building an economy that works

With this acquisition, The Overview Effect reinforces its ambition to build an ecosystem for companies that want to lead in sustainability. Not through isolated projects, but through integrated support that connects strategy, culture, and impact. For companies that want to look beyond compliance, The Overview Effect aims to be a strategic partner on the journey toward lasting, meaningful change.
