You need expertise, flexibility &
hands-on experience
You need specific expertise at specific moments. Carbon footprinting. Materiality assessment.
Transition planning. But hiring for every specialty isn’t realistic.
Your sustainability roadmap looks great on paper. But translating it into concrete projects, timelines, and responsibilities feels impossible. And your team is already stretched thin.
You’ve worked with consultants before. They delivered beautiful presentations. Then left. And you’re still stuck figuring out how to actually implement their recommendations.
Just when you think you understand what’s required, the rules change. ESG reporting, carbon disclosure, due diligence. You need expertise that stays current.
You need senior sustainability talent. But hiring permanent staff isn’t realistic (yet). Or you can’t find the right person.

Co-founder
After years of working as a freelancer within a collective, Koen seized the opportunity to help build The Overview Effect.
His journey toward sustainability has not been linear. Initially uncertain of his direction, he completed a master’s in Business & IT at the Erasmus University. While his peers joined strategy consultancies and tech giants, Koen felt compelled to seek deeper meaning. His concern about climate change – ironically sparked by extensive travels – led him to start his career in the energy transition sector. Over the decade, his focus has broadened to the broad field sustainability is today. At The Overview Effect, Koen’s mission is to mobilize and empower top sustainability professionals for more impact.
